Communication Sending a message. Process of transmitting data or info from one node/party to another using a medium. Medium is a must for transmission. Nodes are devices connected to a network. Eg: Computers, Mobile Phones, Printers and other peripheral devices. Voice Communication Transmission of audio signals. Eg: telephone, etc Uses 1G and 2G Technology. Data Communication Transmission of multiple media ( audio, video, graphics, text, etc ). Eg: Internet, Text messaging applications, etc. Basic Data Communication Model Components: Source - where information or data is generated. Transmitter - where data from the source is converted into a compatible format for transmission media. Transmission System/ Media - where data and information move through in various media. Receiver - where info and data is received and converted into a format we understand. Destination - where original data sent by the source is received.
